Yesterday I walked into my front yard with a gasoline powered rototiller and created a new garden plot. We've got two in the backyard already, but there's a lot of good space in the front being taken up by grass - which mainly means green weeds that require constant summer mowing. What will the neighbors think? I don't know. But I think it makes perfect sense. I've got this whole huge patch of good earth that's level, has good drainage, and gets full sun. I was tired of mowing it anyway - thick with weeds and doing nothing for us. Now it'll yield sunflowers and okra and basil and peas and tomatoes and cucumbers and squash and cantaloupe (maybe).

That is some really pretty rich-looking soil there. We got a new tiller on Monday of last week. It is much larger than the one shown in your photo because we are using it to break virgin ground which requires major power. I looked at a smaller one but decided that the ground around my place would chew it to shr4eds in no time flat.
You should probably be usin g somekind of safety equipment. A tiller is not a toy Andy.
